The Northwest Instrument Heavy-Duty Tripod with 9' Elevator Column is a fitting piece of equipment for jobs with some specific requirements. For one thing, elevating tripods are highly ideal for applications where GPS equipment or robotic surveying instruments are necessary. These devices are usually quite heavy, and an elevating tripod can help stabilize and adjust the elevations of these devices with ease. Using an elevating tripod also means that the elevation of these surveying instruments can be adjusted without having to move the tripod itself. Thus, changes to the setup are unnecessary. Additionally, attaching instruments is made easy by the tension knobs on the rotating top plate. The aluminum shoes, meanwhile, have steel points that ensure balance and stability. While NWI’s heavy-duty elevating tripod is able to carry heavy instruments, the tripod itself is made of lightweight aluminum. The upper half of the built-in elevating column can also be adjusted using a gear, thus making fine adjustments not just possible, but easy as well.

With a weight capacity of up to 39 pounds, the NWi NAT96 Heavy Duty Aluminum Elevator Tripod is perfect for obtaining prime views of any work site. Thanks to its center elevating column, this tall instrument rises from 46 to 108 inches – 9 feet.
The center column has a 2-tier telescoping mechanism. Its bottom half offers automated up and down movement for fast setups. The top half allows manual adjustment of the column using a quick release clamp. You can also position this device by using the extension legs that securely lock in place with clamps.
The steel pointed feet allow for a firm hold on the ground in even the roughest terrain. There is a removable rotating top plate with 5/8-inch X 11 threading. Use the tension knob to align and attach any equipment to this plate.
