What Does “MK” Signify?
The “MK” paddles are ideally used when mixing screed, epoxy-resin+sand, fibrated mortar, and plaster. It’s ok to use with tile adhesive and gypsum plaster, too. Because it’s intended for thick, heavy mixtures, the MK140HF uses a bottom-up mixing action. This ensures that the heavy particles at the bottom of the bucket are brought up into the mixture to be sufficiently mixed.
Why “140”?
When you see “140” in a Collomix stirring paddle’s model number, that is a clear indication that it is intended to be used with the Xo 4 power mixer. While most small batches use the Xo 1, because it is used in such compact mixtures, it needs a stronger engine (1.7 hp) with a larger diameter stirrer.
What Does “HF” Stand For?
“HF” in a mixing stirrer’s model number tells you that this item is compatible with Collomix’s HexaFix Quick Couple system. The HexaFix replaces the M14 system. It’s user-friendly and makes attaching and detaching the paddle quick, easy, and not so messy.
Please Note: Each package comes with one (1) stirring paddle. The Collomix MK160HF mixing paddle is a 3-blade, heavy duty stirrer intended for large batches of compact material compounds. The MK160HF has reinforced durability with its welded joints. It has the Collomix standard powder-coat finish which makes cleanup really simple and not so messy. This product is made of Collomix’s high standards: quality materials, efficient design, and onsite practicality. Collomix has been able to achieve these standards by taking over 35 years of providing onsite construction products, along with listening to what the workforce wants and needs.
What Does the “MK” Tell You?
All “MK” stirring paddles are meant to be used when mixing compact, heavy mixtures. It is ideally used for screed, epoxy-resin+sand, fibrated mortar, and plaster. It will also perform competently with tile adhesive and gypsum plaster. Being that the mixtures are so compact, the MK uses a bottom-up mixing action. This ensures that no unmixed particles get left at the bottom of the bucket (which would thin out the mixture).
What Does “160” Mean?
Any Collomix stirring paddle that has “160” in the model number is compatible with the Xo 6 heavy-duty power mixer. While most large batches use the Xo 4 model (Xo 6 is usually for extra large batches), when mixing a large batch of such compact materials, a stronger engine and larger (in diameter) stirrer is needed to get the job done well. The 160 mm diameter of the MK160HF along with the 2.1 hp of the Xo 6’s motor, combined with the reinforced, welded joints, make this tool combination give your the best performance for mixing compact material compounds.
Why “HF
“HF” stands for HexaFix. HexaFix is Collomix’s Quick Couple technology (replacing the M14 technology). This allows for speedy and really fast attachment and detachment. It makes switching paddles, transportation, and assembly a breeze.
Please Note: Each package comes with 2 stirring paddles
